Land of Lakes: SUSU Students Made a Video about the Anniversary of the South Ural Region

The Chelyabinsk Region will soon celebrate its 90th anniversary. On the eve of the anniversary, students of South Ural State University, together with the State Philharmonic and workers of culture of the South Ural region, have made a video showing the uniqueness of our region.

Historians of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Co-authored a Book about Chelyabinsk Cinemas of the 20th Century

On January 18th, a presentation of the book Chelyabinsk Cinemas of the 20th Century took place at the Chelyabinsk Public Assembly House. The co-authors of the book were Professor of the Department of Russian and Foreign History of the SUSU Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Evgeniy Volkov and Associate Professor of the same department Maksim Sapronov. Other authors were local historians Dmitriy Grafov, Iuriy Latyshev, and Mikhail Khabirov.

Celebrating the New Year According to the Old Style

Doctor of Sciences (History) from South Ural State University, archaeologist Andrey Epimakhov, became the only speaker representing the Russian Federation at the event on the campus of Shanghai University.

SUSU Celebrated Its 80th Anniversary on a Grand Scale

The anniversary week dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary since its founding has wrapped up at South Ural State University. The program of ceremonial events turned out to be very rich and reflected the eventful history, cultural and sports traditions. While celebrating its anniversary for 5 days, our university spoke eloquently about the achievements of its schools and institutes, about science, innovations and multifaceted international activities, creativity and sports. On November 23–24, a Regional Student Science-to-practice Conference on the Countries of the Korean Peninsula: the Past and the Present was held in Irkutsk.

Irkutsk State University and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Russia acted as the event organizers. SUSU student Sofiia Repina, majoring in History, presented her report on the Image of the Korean War as Covered by the Soviet Periodicals, on the Example of Ogoniok Magazine in 1950-1953.
