SUSU Students Celebrated the Anniversary "Crimean Spring"

Students and staff of the university took part in a festive event dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the entry of the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol into the Russian Federation.

The concert took place on stage of the Central Park of Culture and Leisure named after Yuri Gagarin.

After the national anthem was played, the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexey Texler congratulated everyone present on the anniversary of the "Crimean Spring". The governor emphasized that ten years ago a fateful event occurred: not only territories that had historically belonged to Russia, but also our compatriots returned to us.

The history of Crimea has been inseparable from Russian history since the end of the 18th century. Therefore, it has always been and remains an integral part of Russia in people’s minds.

The SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner noted on his page in the social network that students and teachers of the university joined Chelyabinsk residents at a rally-concert on such a significant day for our country, when all of Russia celebrates the victory of President Vladimir Putin in the elections and the tenth anniversary of the "Crimean Spring".

"I think that such an event needs to be remembered and celebrated because it changed the lives of the Crimeans for better and showed our unity," student of the SUSU School of Economics and Management Semyon Sokolov shared his impressions.

Leading groups of our city and region, which included members of public organizations, university students and ordinary Chelyabinsk residents, performed in front of the audience. The special guest of the event was the Zemlyane rock band, who performed everyone’s favourite songs.
