Big “Job Fair” Organised for Students of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service

Within the frameworks of the Employers Assembly, meetings with employers were organized for students of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service of South Ural State University.

The first meeting took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Chelyabinsk. The invited experts of major retail chains, food industry enterprises, and travel agencies presented their organisations, gave an overview of vacancies, and spoke on what kind of personnel the tourism industry needs.

“We cannot take students by their hands and lead them to an employer, they have to walk this path by themselves. But we can help them in the matter of employment, for this the Employers Assembly was created,” says Director of the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service Vadim Erlikh. “The university signed about 3000 agreements with employers, about 200 of them are enterprises of our direction. All graduates of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service get a job and work in their speciality. Already at the end of the first day, the participants were able to find a place for practical training and work.”

More than 300 specialists graduate from the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service every year. Among them are future coaches and instructors. They will be welcome to get employed in the sports organisations in our city. The second meeting within the frameworks of the Employers Assembly was organized for students of the sports field.

“In the summer, students can take their practical training with us, and from September they can already start working,” says Deputy Director for Commercial Activities of OOO VOK Florida Natalia Kochneva. “Today, trainers on duty, gym instructors, instructors-methodologists in various fields are required for the Yubileiny swimming pool. We are looking forward to welcome fresh personnel, they always have a lot of energy and strength. I would like to note that young specialists always come with good training.”

Fourth-year student of the Physical Culture programme Daria Los, right during the Assembly, filled out an applicant's questionnaire. Perhaps the next step will be to be employed at an artistic gymnastics school.

“I was engaged in rhythmic gymnastics, and these are allied disciplines. They told me that I fit the requirements,” shares Daria. “The Employers Assembly is a useful and interesting event, because all graduates are concerned about the issue of employment.”

Resident of the Chelyabinsk Regional Wushu Federation, Director of the Private School of Wushu Sports School Oleg Kastalskiy said that today, among young professionals, part-time work in sports institutions as self-employed is in demand. Such opportunities for graduates are provided. Coaches can work in several institutions and determine the workload for themselves.

The Employers Assembly is a big-scale project for the development of collaboration between enterprises of the real sector of the economy and the university. During the week, similar meetings will be held at all institutes and higher schools of SUSU, so that students could have an opportunity to learn more about jobs in their fields.
