Students of the Economics and Management Faculty won the business plan competition

The XVII Annual International Business Plan Competition, organized by the Business Centre of the Institute “Graduate School of Management” Saint Petersburg University, was held on November 20, 2015.

4 teams from the Department of Economics and Project Management of the Economics and Management Faculty represented our University in the final competition. Only 11 teams out of 157 participants have reached the final. All finalists presented their business plans in the format “Elevator pitch” (3 minute presentation). Our students had vast experience in defending their projects, solved a challenging task in a creative way and demonstrated a high level of professional knowledge when they answered the jury’s questions.

Subsequent to the competition results the student team including Elena Eretnova (2rd year student), Aleksandra Tursukova (2rd year student), Dmitry Maltsev (1st year master student) with the project “Development of a snail farm “Snail Goods Company” took the second place in the competition.

The team with the project “Healthy Child” won “The best social project” nomination. The team members: Nikita Petukhov (2rd year student), Daria Tsatsura (2rd year student), Sergey Savchenko (1st year master student). The winning teams supervisor is a teaching assistant at the Department of Economics and Project Management Ekaterina Sergeevna Gagarinova.

The team with the project “The Vending of Essential Goods” (members: Timofey Loginov, Alena Tolmacheva, Gulzhan Mumbaeva, the team supervisor - associate professor of the Department of Economics and Project Management, Cand.Sc. (Economics) Marina Gennadievna Litke) and the team with the project “Opening of the Spine and Joints Rehabilitation Centre “Life Without Limits” in the Chelyabinsk Region” (members: Anastasia Sozykina, Anna Levina, Svetlana Koltysheva, Elizaveta Smirnova, the supervisor – associate professor of the Department of Economics and Project Management, Cand.Sc. (Economics) Natalia Sergeevna Dzenzelyuk) have also received the certificates.

The organizing committee of the competition noted the high quality of projects, presented by our students, and a good level of competence when making presentations.
